Mentions are a great way to increase engagement over recognition. You can use them to highlight recipients of a post and even invite others into the conversation. If you're familiar with them through other social platforms, you already know how to use them, but if you aren't, don't worry - it's really simple.
To start a mention, just type the "@" symbol before the name of your intended recipient. As you begin typing a name, suggestions matching the typed letter will automatically appear.
Select a name by clicking on it or pressing Enter/Return if the desired name is highlighted. The name will be displayed in between two brackets and is preceded by the "@" symbol, but don't worry, this isn't how it will be displayed to everyone else!
Complete your message, then hit Enter to submit it. The comment will be posted instantly and the mention will display as a clickable link. Click on the link to visit that person's profile page.
Notifications are sent to individuals who are "mentioned," so it's a great way to create attention around a specific recognition and invite others to join in on the conversation.
Mentions work in both the description box of a recognition post and in comments, but will not work in the title of a post. They are currently only supported on the website.
