The Broadcast Tool is a communication instrument that allows Program Administrators to send out information to individuals, groups, or an entire employee population via multiple methods. This one-stop shop for sending communications includes email, push notification (via app) or text alerts on an employee’s mobile phone. Uses for this tool might include sending out company announcements (e.g., changes to policy, upcoming events, etc.) or a reminder not related to the recognition system.
To use the Broadcast Tool, navigate to the gear in the top menu bar and select Configuration from the drop-down.
Next, select Send Communications under Communications on the sidebar or within the Configuration list of contents.
Adding Recipients to the communication is the next step. Add an individual (type their first and last name) or a group (department, location, etc.). The site will populate the information based on the segmentation of employee data in your program configuration.
Note: To send out a communication to everyone within the organization, select both the Manager and Non-manager groups.
Once you've added the desired individuals or groups, the total number of recipients is displayed. Clicking the trash can icon next to a user's or group's name will remove them or it from the list. If an individual name is also included in a group that has been selected, only one communication will be sent to that individual.
At least one group or individual must be selected to send a communication.
Select the communication type(s) desired. At least one communication type must be selected:
- Send Email: this will send an email to recipients; populate the subject line and body of the email (required). Our editor supports the use of HTML to create richer and more unique messages. To learn about basic HTML, read our article here.
- Send Push Notification: this is a notification sent through the Brand Integrity mobile app (if the user has it installed and has enabled push notifications). Push notifications also appear in the desktop site in the notification drop-down of the top menu bar.
- Send Text: this will send a text message to the user's mobile device. The content will only send if the user has opted into text messaging by providing their phone number in their profile.
Administrators may select one or all methods of communication.
Select Send to distribute the configured communications. Communications are sent immediately.
